‘Pen Ganapati Murti’ are idols of Lord Ganesh made by artisan in Pen.
It has legacy over a century that dates back to Peshwa era.
But it gained an encouragement after ‘Lokmanya Tilak’ started public celebration of Ganapati festival around 1890.
The Ganesh idols made in Pen have recently secured geographical indication (GI) tags to preserve heritage and exclusivity.
